Finding a good apartment in Stockholm or Gothenburg can be difficult. It is important to inform you about different possibilities there are when renting an apartment. If you are staying for a short period of time it would make sense to sub-rent an apartment, but when you stay longer than a year it could be smart to be the only tenant. Also, if you can’t find an apartment from abroad try to visit Sweden since it makes it way easier to find an apartment when you are on location yourself.
